Bulk Media Upload

Bulk Media Upload lets you add many images and videos at once by uploading a single ZIP file. This is ideal when a supplier sends you all of a product line’s photos and videos in one archive: instead of uploading files one by one, you drop in the ZIP and MicroPIM does the rest in the background.

For each file in the ZIP, MicroPIM:

  1. Extracts it from the archive.
  2. Scans it for viruses.
  3. Uploads it to the CDN (images to Cloudflare Images, videos to Cloudflare R2, with Amazon S3 as fallback).
  4. Adds it to your media library as an unassigned file.

Uploaded files are not attached to any product automatically — they land in your library so you can pick the right image or video for each product yourself. To attach imagery during a product import instead, see Media Import.

Sidebar: Import → Bulk media upload URL: /admin/bulk-media

  1. Open Bulk media upload from the Import section of the sidebar.
  2. Drag and drop a .zip file onto the upload area, or select it by clicking.
  3. Select Start upload.
  4. A progress bar shows the upload, then the processing of each file inside the ZIP.
  5. When the batch finishes, you’ll get a notification (see Notifications). Your new files appear in the media library.

You can leave the page while a batch processes — it runs in the background.

The ZIP can contain images and videos mixed together. MicroPIM reads the media files and skips anything else (documents, text files, and other non-media content are ignored and reported).

TypeFormats
ImagesJPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP
VideosMP4, WebM, MOV, AVI

Folders inside the ZIP are supported — files in subfolders are extracted and added to your library the same way.

A file is skipped (not added) when it is:

  • Not a supported image or video (e.g. a .txt or .pdf inside the ZIP)
  • Too large for its type
  • Flagged by the virus scan
  • Corrupt or unreadable

Skipped and failed files never stop the rest of the batch — the good files still upload. Every skipped file is listed with a reason, and you can download an error report (CSV) for the job from the uploads table.

When a batch finishes, MicroPIM notifies you two ways:

  • In-app — a notification in the bell menu, linking to your media library.
  • Email — a summary showing how many files were uploaded, skipped, and failed, with a link to the library.

The message reflects the outcome: all files uploaded, a partial result (some skipped or failed), or a failure if nothing could be added.

Because bulk-uploaded files arrive unassigned, you attach them to products afterwards:

  • Open a product and use the media picker to choose files from your library — see Add Product.
  • Or open any file in the media library to manage it, set it as a product’s primary image, and see which products already use it.

The Bulk media upload page lists your recent uploads with their status (processing, completed, partial, failed, or cancelled) and per-file counts. For each upload you can:

  • Download the ZIP — the original archive is retained for a period so you can re-download or re-process it.
  • Download the error report — a CSV of every skipped or failed file and why.
  • Cancel — stop a job that is still processing.
